Executive Forum to Reunite ‘Crossfire’ Duo for Oct. 29 Program

Tucker Carlson, co-host of Crossfire, CNN’s long-running political debate program, and Bill Press, former co-host of Crossfire and current co-host of MSNBC’s Buchanan and Press, will face-off for a lively discussion followed by Q & A from the audience at Mercer University’s Executive Forum, Oct. 29. The lunch presentation will begin at noon on Mercer’s Cecil B. Day Atlanta campus.
The dinner presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Macon City Auditorium.
 
A CNN political analyst based in Washington, D.C., Carlson has provided expertise for Inside Politics, the nation’s first program devoted exclusively to politics, since 1997. In 1998, he joined the media roundtable on CNN’s Sunday talk show Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer.
 
A leading conservative commentator, Carlson writes the “National Affairs” column for New York Magazine and is a contributing editor for The Weekly Standard. Previously, he was a contributing editor for Talk magazine and a writer for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock. Carlson’s writing has also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, George, The New Republic, Forbes, FYI, Slate and The Washington Post.
 
As co-host of MSNBC’s Buchanan and Press, Press illuminates the most complex of contemporary issues along with Pat Buchanan in the fiery debate program. Author of the recent book, Spin This, Press explores the culture of spin. He investigates exactly what spin is, who does it and why, and the impact it has on American society.
 
A highly regarded liberal commentator, Press is a nationally syndicated newspaper columnist. His twice-weekly column is distributed by Tribune Media Services to newspapers across the country. In addition, he is an award-winning radio talk show host and television commentator. He has received numerous awards for his work, including four Emmys and a Golden Mike Award. He was named “Best Commentator of the Year” by the Associated Press in 1992.
 
As Georgia’s premier business enrichment program, the Executive Forum is a membership-based speaker series designed to link the business community to Mercer’s Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics. Established in 1979, the Executive Forum serves as a resource for working professionals in Atlanta and Macon and provides an opportunity for executives to hear from some of the country’s most sought-after speakers, while interacting with other business leaders.
