Atlanta—Mercer University will offer a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) preparation course from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings, July 21- Sept. 8. Offered on the University’s Cecil B. Day Atlanta Campus, this six-week course is designed to help individuals score their best on the GRE and get them one step closer to graduate school.

For more information or to register, contact Angie Macon at (678) 547-6501 or macon_am@mercer.edu.

By examining each area of the GRE, participants in this course will know what to expect on the exam and be able to set goals for improving their performance levels.  Early classes will focus on diagnosing individual strengths and weaknesses and developing goals for improving performance levels.

The course will teach students problem solving techniques and strategies for tackling the toughest questions. The course will include an overview of math concepts, including quantitative comparisons, data interpretation, geometry, algebra and arithmetic.  The course will also prepare participants for the verbal section of the exam by covering topics like reading comprehension, analogies, sentence completions and vocabulary.

The cost is $350, including textbook and materials. A 20 percent discount is available for Mercer students, faculty and staff.

The GRE is the test commonly required for admission to graduate schools other than business, law or medical schools.
