The faculty of the Mercer Law School continues to rock, legally speaking. For the second consecutive year, the faculty at the Walter F. George School of Law has been cited as one of the nation’s leaders in terms of responses from student surveys. The Mercer Law faculty is ranked ninth nationally in the category of Faculty Rocks by The Princeton Review in its 2006 edition of “Best 159 Law Schools,” based on two ratings: the quality of teaching and the accessibility of faculty.

Mercer Law School students rated the faculty at a stunning 98 percent in accessibility, an 89 in academic experience rating and an 87 in “professors interesting rating.”

According to the students quoted in the Mercer entry in the 2006 edition of “Best 159 Law Schools” released Oct. 4, “like professors, administrators stay in close contact with students, many of whom they know by first-name.” Students also cited the “great library staff,” the law school’s technology resources and the beautiful building.

Dean Daisy Floyd said, “It is gratifying to receive positive feedback from our students about the quality of their educational experience at Mercer. The faculty and staff of the Law School work hard to create an intellectually challenging and supportive academic environment, where each student is known and valued. I am proud of this recognition by The Princeton Review.”

According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review VP-Publishing, data collected from law school students helps establish who is included in the annual publication. “Every school we profile in this book offers a terrific law school education, yet each one is distinctive in its academic programs, school offerings and campus culture. We don’t name – and don’t think it’s useful to name – one best law school overall. The key question for applicants is ‘What is the best law school for me?’ To help them decide, this, we survey students attending the schools and report what they say about their experiences at them.”
