MACON — Mercer University’s new Admissions Web site, GoMercer.com, has already earned a major award, barely one month into its existence. The Web site earned Third Wave Digital, which designed and implemented the new Undergraduate Admissions site in close coordination with the Mercer Web Task Force, a Best in Class award in the category of universities Web sites from the Interactive Media Awards on Oct. 27.
The Best in Class honor recognizes that the GoMercer.com Web site surpasses the standards of excellence that comprise the web’s most professional work. The judging consisted of various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content. To receive this award, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a fraction of sites submitted internationally in the IMA competition earn each year.
GoMercer.com, which went live on Oct. 2, earned a total score of 485 out of 500 possible points on the rankings scale, including 96 in design, 97 for content, 95 for feature functionality, 97 for usability and 100 in standards compliance and compatibility.
