Mat Kearney Headlines Bearstock, Oct. 20 Concert Presented by Quadworks

MACON — Quadworks, the Campus Activities Board of Mercer University, will host a one-day concert festival, Bearstock, on Saturday, Oct. 20.  Bearstock, which begins at noon, will take place on Porter Patch at Mercer’s historic Macon campus, and feature Billboard Top 100 artist Mat Kearney as well as 11 other local and regional artists. 

The artists will be performing on two stages all day starting at noon. The headliner, Mat Kearney, is expected to go on at 8 p.m. The concert is free and is open to the public.

The bands and artists that are scheduled to perform include:  Mat Kearney, Meiko, Hank Vegas, The Liabilities, The Less, Sick Figures, oh dorian, Adam + the Pinx, Ben Deignan, Josh Graff, Gran Trizz & the Automatics, and Oscar Meyer Wisdom.  Several of the bands featured are well known in Macon and throughout Georgia, while both Gran Trizz & the Automatics and Oscar Meyer Wisdom are made up of Mercer students.

Headliner Mat Kearney has been featured on VH1 as a “You Oughta Know Artist” and was also featured as an iTunes “Artist of the Week.”  Mat songs “Undeniable” and “Nothing Left to Lose” have both been on the Billboard Pop 100 Singles Chart. “Nothing Left to Lose” also reached number 21 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart and number 31 on the Hot Digital Songs list.  Kearney combines hip-hop and folk-rock influences to create a sound that is unique and original.  Mat released his debut album, Bullet, under Inpop Records in 2004 and followed with Nothing Left to Lose, which earned him mainstream attention, under Aware/Columbia Records in 2006.
