MACON – Country crossover artist and Grammy Award nominee John Berry brings his nationally touring Christmas Concert to The Grand Opera House on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 7:30 p.m. An annual favorite at The Grand, this concert features both holiday favorites and selections from Berry’s discography, which spans more than 15 albums. Tickets are $32 and may be purchased by phone at (478) 301-5470 or online at TheGrandMacon.com.

“John Berry’s holiday concert has entertained thousands of people at The Grand over the years,” said Betsy Fitzgerald, executive director of The Grand. “Besides being a great singer and songwriter, he is also a great man. We look forward to welcoming him back to Macon!”

A native of South Carolina, Berry is known to audiences throughout the world both for his incredible vocal performances and for his ability to tell stories through his songs. He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1995 for “Your Love Amazes Me,” one of 19 songs that have made it to the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Other well-known hits include “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye,” “I Think About It All The Time,” “Change My Mind,” “If I Had Any Pride Left At All,” “Kiss Me In The Car,” “What’s In It For Me” and “You and Only You.” Many of Berry’s albums have gone gold and platinum, earning awards from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.

The release of Berry’s album O Holy Night in 1995 reached a wider crossover audience. The success of that CD and its title track launched his annual Christmas concert tour, which is now in its 15th year. The Grand has partnered with country music station WDEN to welcome Berry and his crew home to Central Georgia for this wonderful holiday tradition.

The Grand Opera House, a performing arts center of Mercer University, is Central Georgia’s premier historic theatre presenting professional Broadway tours, concerts, comedy, dance and variety shows as well as a full season of GrandKids arts education performances.
