Doctor of Physical Therapy White Coat and Postprofessional Recognition Ceremony

Mercer University Department of Physical Therapy held their Doctor of Physical Therapy White Coat and Postprofessional Recognition Ceremony on August 19, 2016. Thirty-eight members of the Class of 2019 received their professional white coats at the ceremony, signifying their entrance into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Additionally, eight residents and three fellows were recognized for the completion of their postprofessional training. Residents included: Dr. Donna Piper (Neurology Residency in collaboration with Shepherd Center); Drs. Tiffany Haney and Stephen Ramsey (Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Residency); and Drs. Clayton Conners, Brad Johanson, Rachel Malina, Daniel Tari and Ted Ziaylek (Orthopaedic Residency). Fellows completing the Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship included: Drs. Beth Collier, Margaret Gebhardt, and Tim McMahon. The key note address was provided by Dr. Joseph Donnelly, Physical Therapy Association of Georgia President and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Mercer University. The establishment of the Leslie F. Taylor Scholarship, intended to support student leadership development, was also announced during the ceremony.
