MAC TAUTMACON – Mercer University’s McEachern Art Center (the MAC) will host a series of talks on Zoom with five artists from around the Southeast in different disciplines. These are the artists featured in TAUT: MFAs Revisited, which focuses on work that would have been staged for MFA thesis exhibitions but was stymied by the impact of COVID-19.

These conversations will take place every Thursday beginning Jan. 14 through Feb. 11 between 4-5 p.m. Artists represented include Jude Anogwih, Toni Ardizzone, Caroline Ennis, Heather Mclelland, and Christina Foard. These conversations will be broadcast on Zoom and Facebook Live to Mercer students as well as free for members of the broader community.

Each session will feature a 20-minute presentation by the artist followed by a question-and-answer session. The artists on view work across media including video, painting, ceramics, and sculpture.

“They’ll provide an overview of their current practices and offer context; how and why they do what they do,” noted Ben Dunn, director of the MAC. “These quick, insightful talks will provide a way to unpack the work on display, and they are perfect activities to assign for extra credit if you’re teaching.”

To reserve tickets on Zoom and to read more about each artist, click the links below or like McEachern Art Center on Facebook to view on Facebook Live.

The MAC is located at 332 2nd Street in Macon. Admission is free and open to the public during gallery hours, 4-8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays. Additional hours are available by appointment by emailing dunn_bwr@mercer.edu, and free group visits from educational institutions are encouraged. Face coverings are required while indoors at the MAC and there is limited capacity in the gallery to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. TAUT: MFAs Revisited will be open through Feb. 13.
