These students came from 52 undergraduate institutions and represent 38 undergraduate majors. The students are from 11 different states, ranging heavily from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. Ten students are legacies, having a family member that is a graduate of Mercer Law School.

Mercer Law first-year students have a diverse range of work and service experiences. Students have previous work experience in the Georgia Governor’s Office, as aides for Georgia State Senators, editor-in-chief of a local newspaper, and in the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, local law enforcement and the United Parcel Service (UPS). Additionally, two members of the class have served in the military, one in the Army and one in the Navy.

Many students have volunteered with different philanthropic and nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, humane societies and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. They have held leadership roles in their undergraduate institutions, including being student ambassadors, representatives in student government, varsity athletes and founders of diverse student organizations.
