MACON – Mercer University Theatre will be performing The Commedia Pinocchio, directed by Scot Mann, on March 20-22 and 27-29 at 10 a.m. The Mercer Players, the production arm of Mercer’s Theatre program, offer this play free of charge to families and the broader Middle Georgia community on the Tattnall Square Park Stage.
This show follows a rag-tag commedia troupe as they put on a show about a well-known children’s character: Pinocchio. The five troupe members take on dozens of roles to tell the story of the beloved puppet’s journey to becoming a real boy. The audience will watch the characters create mischief and encounter one humorous and delightful adventure after another. The show is appropriate for all ages and especially aimed towards school-aged children and families.
Mercer Players hopes this production appeals to families in the local community and plan even more activities to make this a fun event for parents and kids alike. Admission is free and there will be snacks, stickers, and balloon animals for audience members in attendance. After the show, there will be free dodgeball archery hosted by the Situation Room. The mission of Situation Room is to be the leading producer and provider of high-quality interactive family entertainment, and are notable for their escape room events in downtown Macon.
