MACON – Mercer University rising senior Stephen Galloway was recently selected for a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Internship this summer in Washington D.C.
Galloway, from Columbus, is a law and public policy major with minors in business administration and economics.
As an intern, he will learn about the legislative process, leadership and careers in the policymaking process by working in Congressional Black Caucus member offices, attending professional development events and participating in leadership development projects, while living on the campus of George Washington University.
“I am humbled and excited to take part in this internship,” said Galloway. “It has also been a dream of mine to work in the nation’s capital, but I had never thought I could do so quickly in my life. Hopefully, I can gain firsthand experience about the legislative process and use that experience throughout my life.”
Galloway previously served as a policy and community organizing intern at The Bronx Defenders public defense nonprofit in New York.
He is president of Mercer’s mock trial team, treasurer of the Mercer Young Democrats and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Pi Alpha Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma and the University’s club golf team.
He plans to attend law school to specialize in administrative law.
