ATLANTA – Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business is an invited sponsor in the fourth annual P20 Global Payments Conference, to be held virtually Sept. 29-30 to convene top business leaders, government officials and regulators to discuss the future of the payments industry.

P20 is a London- and Atlanta-based financial technology (FinTech) global consortium facilitating collaboration in harmonizing a global approach and developing solutions to non-competitive issues in the payments industry. The pillars of the consortium are in the areas of regulation, cybersecurity, financial inclusion and education.

“Atlanta is the hub for FinTech payments in the United States due to the strategic location of the Federal Reserve of Atlanta, and as a result FinTech has grown by leaps and bounds in Atlanta and even more during COVID-19,” said Dr. Vijaya Subrahmanyam, associate dean and C. Ben Harnsberger Professor of Finance in the School of Business.

Mercer will be represented at the conference by Dr. Subrahmanyam and Dr. Myriam Quispe-Agnoli, associate professor of economics, in Atlanta and Dr. Geoffrey Ngene, associate professor of finance, in Macon. The University will broadcast the conference to students on both the Atlanta and Macon campuses.

Mercer’s virtual booth will showcase a new certificate program in FinTech Compliance, Regulation and Analytics that is planned for summer 2021.

The new program, consisting of virtual and in-person meetings, is directed toward professionals in accounting, finance, management, human resources and other areas seeking information on the payments or technological applications in the financial services industry.

For more information on the program, contact Jeff Wolfe, director of the Center for Executive Education, at (678) 547-6405 or wolfe_jj@mercer.edu.
