Wind Ensemble Members Perform With Elite United State States Air Force Band

MACON – Nine members of Mercer University's Wind Ensemble were invited to perform with the United States Air Force Band at Macon's Grand Opera House on March 28. The performance was a part of the annual International Cherry Blossom Festival and was attended by more than 800 people.

“Our students had the opportunity to perform with their conductor Col. Larry Lang on a march with members of this elite military band,” said Dr. Douglas Hill, professor of music and director of instrumental studies.

The students and their instruments (picture above, left to right): Dillon Watkins, trumpet; Matthew Ezeh, trombone; Kyle Wegner, euphonium; Brayden Hutcheson, alto saxophone; USAF Conductor Col. Larry Lang; Jon Grizzle, tuba; Maia Nichols, oboe; Ana Hunt, horn; Lilly Mauti, flute; and Amanda Greene, clarinet.
